Project Manager

POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER
LOCATION: Napa, CA
REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for managing Long Electric projects in line with company goals, financial parameters, and within the project’s timeline and specification with the purpose of optimizing revenue growth, profitability and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage projects in accordance with Long Electric Company procedures and project goals
  • Develop project execution plan
  • Build, monitor and update project schedule
  • Assign and manage manpower to meet project schedule and goals
  • Oversee purchasing and tracking project material and equipment – coordinate with Project Engineer
  • Coordination and communication between GC, subcontractors and/or customer.
  • Identify gaps to plans – and initiate recovery action plans.
  • Generate new business back to estimating department

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College Education: Construction Management B.S. Degree preferred, not required.
  • 5 years of electrical project management experience
  • Professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project preferred, not required
  • Accubid Experience preferred, not required

Electrical Estimator/Sr. Estimator

POSITION: ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR/SR. ESTIMATOR
LOCATION: Napa, CA
REPORTS TO: President
POSITION SUMMARY

The Estimator is responsible for producing accurate and complete estimates that generate, along with other sales and project management activities, profitable jobs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend pre-bid conferences with owners, engineers, clients and make onsite visits as required to obtain information pertaining to existing conditions prior to creating an estimate.
  • Review drawings and specifications, determine scope of work on the project, provide designs, budget, and hard-dollar estimates and proposals.
  • Review contracts; identify any questionable items requiring discussion.
  • Upon receipt of contract or award of job, ensure job is set-up according to procedure. Work closely with appropriate individuals to coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials requirements.
  • When awarded project is turned over to a Project Manager, work closely with Project Manager to ensure project is installed according to plan and Customer specifications.
  • Ensure estimating files, job files, and other project documentation is organized and stored according to procedure.
  • Maintain project lists, bid lists, and other tracking documents according to procedure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Experience using Accubid estimating programs is a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • 5 years as an electrical estimator/sr. estimator/chief estimator is preferred.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and team oriented.
