Client: ICON Aircraft

Location: Vacaville, Ca

General Contractor: XL Construction

The facility includes every operation required to build, assemble, test and fly new airplanes from the ground up

The first phase of ICON Aircraft’s manufacturing facility in Vacaville was constructed beginning in 2015 and completed in 2016. Long Electric performed the electrical design (partnering with AlfaTech Engineering) and performed the electrical construction under the design-build project delivery. The overall project was a complete build-out of a new production facility within an existing 138,000 sq ft. shell building, led by general contractor XL Construction. Electrical scope included the addition of two new 12kV substations, new underground and overhead power feeders, power to two Paint Booths, and new LED high bay light fixtures and lighting control system throughout the entire facility. The project was completed on time, within budget, safely, resulting in no lost time incidents.
