Greg Long Re-Elected as NECA District 9 Vice President

Long Electric is proud to share that company president Greg Long has been re-elected to serve as the District 9 Vice President for the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). The NECA Board of Governors confirmed the appointment during its September 29 meeting, extending Long’s leadership role for another two-year term beginning January 1, 2024.

A lifelong Napa resident, Greg Long began his electrical career immediately after graduating from Napa High School, later completing his Apprenticeship in 1984. After several years working as an Inside Wireman, he founded Long Electric in 1990 at the age of 28. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a trusted provider of commercial and industrial electrical services across the Bay Area, delivering modernization, maintenance, and new construction projects with an annual volume of roughly $20 million.

Long has been actively involved with NECA since 1993, contributing through committee work, training participation, and leadership roles. He currently serves as Governor of the Northern California Chapter and is a past Chapter President. His industry involvement also includes serving as PLC Chair for District 9, Chair of the Solano-Napa Electrical Contractors Trust, and long-standing participation in ELECTRI International, where he is a former Council Chair. He was inducted into the Academy of Electrical Contracting in 2018.

Throughout his career, Long has witnessed significant technological evolution within the electrical industry, reinforcing his belief in the importance of continuous training and education, principles that have shaped the growth of Long Electric.

Outside of work, Greg enjoys time with his wife Patti, their sons, Tom and Jordan, both of whom are part of the Long Electric team.
